You Will be Shocked! I Guarantee It,

/End of shock

What is written below is very controversial stop reading if you do not want to engage in critical thinking.

What were you expecting when you first saw this guy talking?

So it all ends up for the benefit of the individual. The argument would be as follows, if imposing a certain ideology upon a group of people would not be beneficial for them, so if it was imposed then a new group of hypocrites will arise, concluding that a secular body of governance is the way out.

Then someone like this guy might join the wagon and say….

Then again we have the problem of interpretation. We may not agree on what god wants from us and we may not set clear boundaries of freedom to practice it. Ultimately I obey god so I can go to heaven therefore we should remove any obstacles so that one can obey god as he/she sees fit without crossing the boundaries of others, as a result we all had an equal chance to worship in the right path, what you choose is up to you not your society.

our society tends to influence us somewhat but I agree that we have the final say in things because in the end it all comes down to what each of us believe in ..

Well I agree-- ideologigcal states never work, and that includes religious states, communist states, socialist states. The government's job is to maintain law & order not brainwash people! Bas shinsawee.. we have a long way to go and will probably just learn this the hard way just like Europe did.

Yup, that’s true!

Sa7 and mo sa7. Its complex, I don’t think sunnis nor shi’tes will sacrifice the model our prophet (PBUH) have set for governance.

Probably we will learn the hard way, unfortunately.

Yes, true, but then when you say "model" which model do you mean? we can't even agree what model he set. Besides, religion rests on the idea that "I am right and you are wrong.." and that's a very slippery slope for people who want to live together.

I'd say we need to be secular whether we like it or not, just for the sake of practicality.

That would be the model of the caliphate “نموذج خلافة رسول الله”

Going secular will definitely raise different challenges; I still haven’t set my mind on that. I still believe we can do a new Islamic model.

Yeh of course in the next couple of centuries or so we're going to stick to make an Islamic model work but I think in the long run we'll realize that there is no hope & go secular.. [btw I don't see caliphate happening, as even the original caliphate couldn't survive more than 4 people]
... and I could be wrong@@
